Francisco Chan Pech is a Data Engineer specializing in the design, automation, and implementation of robust data pipelines, AI-driven applications, and data warehouses for analytical and decision-making purposes.
Currently, he serves as an AI Operations Engineer at the Universidad Politécnica de Yucatán, where he developed and deployed an institutional chatbot utilizing a serverless RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architecture. In this role, he leads the evaluation of the AI system’s accuracy, manages data ingestion and validation strategies, and implements secure session persistence using Redis and Microsoft Entra ID.
Previously, as a Senior Data Engineer at XPERT-IA, he designed and implemented automated RPA bots to extract and process over 1 TB of CRM data. He also architected serverless ETL pipelines on AWS and developed high-performance REST APIs with FastAPI to facilitate secure data consumption.
He has developed end-to-end projects including a Data Warehouse on GCP using BigQuery and Looker Studio to analyze urban mobility patterns in New York City, a serverless AWS and Snowflake data pipeline to model missing-persons data, and a complete ELT pipeline for a video streaming platform. He has complemented his background with Data Engineering certifications in Python and SQL from DataCamp, and holds an upper-intermediate (B2) level of English proficiency.
